Where can you find Karaoke for teenagers restaurant club southern california?

place where teenagers can do karaoke in southern californiaWhere can you find Karaoke for teenagers restaurant club southern california?
There are Karaoke clubs where you rent a room for your group %26amp; all take turns singing...

Google ';karaoke parlors'; in your areaWhere can you find Karaoke for teenagers restaurant club southern california?
Strange. For adults, you have to be pretty drunk before you go up and do something like this. Even then I don't give my real name and often wear a disguise. I'm surprised a sober teenager would do something like this.

I would think some of the young clubs might do it, like YMCA, church youth groups, or similar organizations during teen oriented parties.

Do you thinks adults unfairly judge teenagers?

i'm a teen and whenever i go somewhere alone adults always seem to be keeping an eye on me as if i'm gonna steal something...etc.

what do you think do adults UNFAIRLY judge teenagers?

answers from adults and teens plsDo you thinks adults unfairly judge teenagers?
yes! ok i have never stolen anything, or done drugs..or anything bad...but i look like the person that would..i wear red eye makeup and just have an eccentric odd appearance...

once day i was with my Friends in Victoria's secret..and i had just gotten my hair HACKED OFF! like an inch long..and i was really self conscious so i had my hood up....and the store keepers kept asking if we ';needed anything'; and idk it just hurts my feelings when adults unfairly treat me due to my age and appearanceeDo you thinks adults unfairly judge teenagers?
I understand teens perfectly i use to be one, no judgement here . . .

Trust me my teen friend, adults judge each other as well, which is

why i keep to my self, ignore it, in which then, your acting more

like an adult, and there acting more like a kid . . .
I'm an adult and I do think that some adults unfairly judge teens. I know it's because a lot of teens act like they have no respect or get into trouble a lot but, I don't feel that all of them are that way.
Im a teen. And no i dont think so. Most people judge anyone based on appearances so if you look like the type to steal to them, age doesnt matter.
Yes we do.

And sometimes teenagers unfairly judge adults.
Yes, just as teenagers unfairly judge adults.
just tell them that you were not stealing.

Do high school teachers listen to teenagers conversations in class?

    I hope they don't otherwise I'm dead!

If the conversation is loud enough I'm sure they can hear it well enough to understand what it's about, but if the conversation can't be heard then teachers can't really make out the words and understand what's happening. While a teacher is teaching, they can clearly see who and who's not talking. However, when they give their class classwork and they're sitting by their desDo high school teachers listen to teenagers conversations in class?

I'm sure they do. Do they care about what's being said? Probably not. At least none of my teachers do.
Yeah some.... My 1st period teacher would hear some of us freaking out about not studying or not studying enough for some of our test..it was actually pretty funny
yes, I had a teacher that loved me and when she heard me and my friends talking about hanging out and drinking she was ';very dissapointed'; in me.

Teenagers out on Friday night are you worried?

about your son/daughter especially with all the knife crime at the moment.Teenagers out on Friday night are you worried?
I worry all the time about my daughter, she's 17 and has just started to want to go out and I hate it.Teenagers out on Friday night are you worried?
no i am worried for myself. teens in the city i live in have gotten so scary they will point guns at you if you look at them bad. they will purposly try to crash into you and they are so mean. I am 16 years old myself and scared out of my mind. Going out after nine on weekends is out of the picture, i refuse to drive at night on weekend and now that school is out it will happen alot more. and if any of yuo are interested in where i live it is el paso texas right on the border(figures)
You have to expect that they will be safe. If you focus on all of the bad things that are happening, that's ll you'll expect and it's all that you'll see. Truly. Lots of good things do happen in this world. Make sure that you know where they are going, and odds are they have cell phones. Does the neighborhood your kids are hanging out in have this type of behavior? Optimism! Just make sure that you've done your homework. Know who they are hanging out with and give them hard and fast boundaries and curfews. Don't make them over fearful because of your fears. They will model their behavior on your own.
not all teenager carry knifes you know! jeez what sort of a world do we live in. if you live in a community like in Glasgow for example and some places in London there is quite a few teen knife gangs and yeah it tends to be in the deprived areas. but honestly don't judge a book by it's cover so don't judge teenagers. so of us actually want to help people and do good in this world. i am 16 and i don't drink do drugs have sex carry a knife. i would never dream of hurting anyone. i was in my high street and i accidentally bumped into this elderly man and i was really really sorry i turned around and i said oh sir I'm really sorry and you alright and this many gave the the dirtiest look i had ever seen. i was shocked. some teenagers are treated like **** because of the small, and i mean small, percentage of teens that paint a bad view of us. we are not all like that. please take that on board.
I didnt know there was a knife crime going on either! I never really ';partied'; or drove anywhere, Ive always had friends come over here to my home and stay the night or something, just to have fun...i was glad to be home and safe =-) not have to worry about being near drunk drivers, etc.
Yea, i was hit by a drunk driver like a month ago, i was driving home at like 1:30 am and ';boom'; a dunk driver ran a red light and hit me, they tottaled my car and they didnt have any car insurance, thank god i am okay and no one else was in the car, but now i know what kind of people are out on fri. and sat. nights, drunk ones
If you have a son who goes out on a friday just tell him if some one starts on you just walk away.

im 16 and never been hurt cos im bigger than them i just walk away, its the safe and the smart thin 2 do

(god how old do i sound?)
if they are out after 12 or 1 in the morning I would be. There is nothing out there but trouble in the wee hours of the morning everything is closed so there are more opportunities for people to get in trouble.
I think how ever old your children are teens twenties or thirty you worry about your children if you know they are out even more just lately
Yes that's scary, I know. But if you do follow them sometime at some point you'll never know what they are up to, other than what they tell you.
If i had one then no i would not be worried.

Well not because all of a sudden there are endless reports about it but maybe a teeny bit just because parents always do.
    Evidently my parents arn't

they left my brother and I at the house for a week while they are on vacation.

But then again, where I live there is barely any crime
Umm, just so you know, people kill everyday. Not just Friday.
I would be worried sick if I had a son/daughter and they went out. Wouldn't matter what day it was I would worry every night
i wouldn't have that problem because i wouldn't raise kids in this horrible world that we live in.
    I would be if i had a son/daughter !!!!!

Good luck with her/him!!! Take good care of Her/him
it depends where you live and i did not even know there was a knife crime going on when did this start
yes i would be worried. here lemme tell you. let your child go out on friday night until the knife crimes decrease.
Yes i would so be worried!! i would go nuts if that was one of my kids!!
    YES very much!

I also worried because teens tend to drink and drive!
    kids will be kids
No, i just send my kids out with knives.
heck yea im a teen and i would invite ppl over NOT go out!

I like romantic comedies and although I have a really high reading level, I love to read books that are easy readers, but at the same time still for teens. I don't know if you will like these, but I'll tell you them anyways:

1)A Chinese Cinderella- Adeline Yen Mah (not a romantic comedy, a true story, and it gives you a lot of emotions)

    2) The Princess and the Pauper- Kate Brian

    3) Lucky T- Kate Brian

    4) Any of the Simon Pulse Romantic comedy for teen books (all by different authors, but the same genre)

    5) Skellig- David Almond

    6) The Last to Know- Melissa Hill

    7) The Clique Series by Lisi Harrison

    8) S.A.S.S series (all different authors- S.A.S.S= students across the seven seas)

Is there any cooking schools for teenagers in florida?

There are a number of technical schools that you can go to in Florida to get that training, but they all require that you have a high school diploma or GED or have passed the TABE test. There are also two private culinary colleges in Miami that I know of. They also require a HS diploma or equivalent. Go to FACTS.org and do a search. All the information you need about higher education and technical training in Florida is on that site.

teenagers sounds right, but not professional.Should I use ';adolescents'; or ';teenagers'; in a college paper?
If you are using it as a technical term in a college paper, you should define the specific age range you are talking about, not use a vague term. ';Adolescents'; is vague. ';Teenagers'; is accurate, provided you want to talk about people aged between 13 and 19.

Is it legal for two teenagers to have sex in wisconsin?

my girl and i are both 15 and i was wondering....Is it legal for two teenagers to have sex in wisconsin?

nope the age of consent is 16.

Christians, why do you think most of us and most of the teenagers can't talk right today?

why do you think most of us and most of the teenagers can't talk right today?Christians, why do you think most of us and most of the teenagers can't talk right today?
As a teenager myself, I can say that society has a lot to do with the decisions we make. We see it on TV, so we think it is okay. We hear kids our age use inappropriate language, so we think it is okay. The music we listen to says its okay. I personally feel that everyone, regardless of age, need to stray far from those bad actions. Since when did immoral actions become moral? They didn't. But people seem to have that image in their heads. Compare teens today to 50 years ago, and you will see a major difference. I have noticed that kids who do partake in their faith *generally* make better decisions. Sure, we ALL make mistakes. But as a teen, I am going to do my best and stay away from immoral actions. I pray for everyone to do their best to make moral decisions-including myself. Hopefully my generation and the generations to come will realize how stupid we sometimes act.

Best of luck.Christians, why do you think most of us and most of the teenagers can't talk right today?
I think this is because your peers do not give you the time or the freedom to ';Be';!

Everybody is so into themselves and their own lives.

Even we, as parents, as teachers, do not give our kids what they need to stand up for themselves, be proud of who they are and feel that they will truly make it in this world.

    Where is the love?

    Where is the confidence?

Where is the nurturing that is needed to make our children feel good about themselves.

Where is the institution of family?

Where is the respect for one another, regardless?
Here is a comparison of how you speak versus how people spoke 200 years ago.

It would have been a prodigality for which even the conduct of Providence might have been arraigned, had he been by birth annexed to what was so far below him. Because society hasn't pushed the same values and virtues as there once was. Why do you think Gramps and Grandma act so much different than Mom and Dad, and Mom and Dad act so different than you do?

How do you punish your teenagers? Seriously! Only Parents of Teens Please!?

I am talking younger teenagers, 13 and 15, NOT like 17 and 18. I only mean younger teens! Be for real not what you think others want to hear, be honest! How do you punish your teenagers? Seriously! Only Parents of Teens Please!?
Well, I think it depends on what the children have done. You have to let the punishment fit the crime.

Examples of my former punishments are:

1 Bad-mouthed one of the middle school teachers. Grounded from everything for 2 weeks.

2 Told me she was too busy to clean her room and wasn't going to do it: Sleepover canceled.

3 After being asked numerous times to turn off the gameboy and finish homework with little result: No school Dance Friday and Gameboy disappeared.

4 Being mean to kid in pool: No more trips to the pool for 2 wks.

5 Caught talking badly about another person: No electronics for 2 wks. and constant reminder that we don't talk that way - ever.

It just really depends on what's going on, I think. Sometimes, certain things work while others don't. It depends on your kids, and what they like to do, what you can take away...and what they're doing to deserve the punishment. Keep in mind though, that sometimes you have to pick your battles. If it's an arguement between siblings, they will genereally work it out without parental involvement. But if it comes to the point where you have to get involved, do so in a fair manner, and make sure no one is getting off easier than the other - unless of course one is obviously at fault. Just do what you think is right for the situation at hand. How do you punish your teenagers? Seriously! Only Parents of Teens Please!?
    ground them from the phone

    going outside

    tv
The best way to punish them take away EVERYTHING that they enjoy doing and do it for at least a week it depends on what they have done but DONT give in cause if u do then they know they can get away with it again
My daughter is 12. I make her read....I take away the cell, the internet, the stereo, ipod and tv.
I have an eleven year old (almost 12) and the punishment will be different depending on what warrented it. Here are just a few things:

    1. Take away the cell phone for one week.

    2. Door taken off the hinges to the room.

    3. Grounded. No phone, no sleepovers, and no allowence.

    4. Canceled a plan activity.

No matter what the punishment is you are dealing with a preteen and if they say ';you are unfair, mean, or worse parent';. That only means that you picked the correct punishment.
u should hit themwith a belt or somethin do watever seriously parents these days r punks i swear
for what give wat they doid why r they getting punished
Definitely take away priviledges. For example, T.V. or something that really would bum them out that they can't live without. Grounding also might help. My teen gets so mad when I take her T.V. away for a couple of days because she misses her favorite show. Also, I remove phone priviledges. It works for me.
it depends on what they do to get in trouble
My parents used to ground me electronically. I couldn't watch TV, use the phone, use the computer (unless it was for a paper I had to write - in which case my mother sat behind me the whole time), etc. Losing contact with the outside world is awful for a young teen. Also, it depends on what you're punishing them for. If their actions could lead them to legal trouble later, arrange for a prison tour (if you have one nearby). That'll scare their pants off. If they're already being promiscuous, make them take care of an egg for a week so they can somewhat see what it's like to take care of an accidental baby. Or, see if your local hospital has any STD classes. If they're talking back to you, ground them from any communication with anyone other than you (other than at school). You have to be creative with young teenagers. They're usually very hands-on and don't really understand something until they're in the middle of it. My in-laws made my sister-in-law write a 3 page paper about the importance of telling your parents where you are going to be (after being caught somewhere she shouldn't have been). I know teenagers are tough, but the more creative you are with their punishments, the more likely they are to remember those consequences you created in future situations. Good luck!
I'm 15. and what did your young teen do to get themselves into trouble?

cellphone, sex, drugs, party's,lying? i say a good grounding is for a month. but make your question more specific on what they did wrong please!
When my teens were younger, grounding was the basic punishment. That means: no going to friends after school, no video games, no DVD or VHS movies and they can't watch TV unless I am watching it.

If the offense was unusual, then I made the punishment fit the crime. Take away the thing that seems to be causing the problem.

If Jesus were to give a speech to today's youth (particularly teenagers) what would he say?

An up-to-date modern version of Matthew Chapters 5-7. I'm sure that he would look at the Christian faith and be both proud and disappointed. Would he have the same feelings for the church leaders as he did the Pharisees? He felt that you should do what the Pharisees say from a ';law'; perspective but not to act they way they acted.

If Jesus were to give a speech to today's youth (particularly teenagers) what would he say?
He might say something like: Hi. I see things are getting pretty rough for you all. Divorces, fighting, diseases, addictions, loneliness. Half of you don't get to know your father. Half are hungry, broke.... feels like you are losing the battle to greed and pride and just general meanness. Well, you are right, you are losing the battle, but it's just birth pangs. Come closer, ... this is what we're gonna do. If Jesus were to give a speech to today's youth (particularly teenagers) what would he say?
love everyone, no exceptions, just love.

(Or maybe 'crucify me again, because the first time did not really seem to take away the sins of the world since the majority is still being damned to hell, so let's try one more time')
He'd say love God as much as She loves you and be kind to your neighbor, and then he'd go after the loudmouth fundies and call them a bunch of liars and hatemongers using his and God's name to promote thier own agendas
    hed say ';im still waiting for you to realize that religion is a social control, and hey good luck following the ten big rules lol';
He would start by explaining that in his absence, his copyright has been misused. A lot.
Stay morally clean, listen to your parents, study the scriptures and the gospel, pray often.
    ';I'm sorry your parents and their parents screwed everything up so badly, but it's not my fault they got it all wrong.';
'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind'; and, 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' Luke 10:27 NIV
Don't believe in false idols (through marketing). Even though I'm an atheist, even I would go to his meetings on this one!!!
Nothing that he hasn't already said.
    The same things He always has. Primarily, ';Repent and be saved.';
    What he always says: ';Believe in me, or go to hell!';

    ';No glove, no love.';
the same things he said 2000 yr.s ago
get of your butts/ or you are not animals
interesting question...i think he'd tell us to continue to live life.
    ';Wow. . . . . things have gotten crazy.';

    or

    ';Deny Miley Cyrus! For the love of Me!';
    He'd say...trust me...its okay...go home...smoke a bowl.

Why are teenagers so uneducated and stupid?

Can I get pregnant the first time I have sex? - uhm yes.

So, I got pregnant the first time I had sex, now I want an abortion, how do I make it happen?

Like honestly don't parents educate their children on sex ed anymore? Why is it even legal to use abortion as a birth control method?

I'm going to bed, all these teeny boppers ruined my evening.... #$*%#*Why are teenagers so uneducated and stupid?
The decline of society, morals and values. Cycle of unqualified parents creating more unqualified parents. Why are teenagers so uneducated and stupid?
I say the same thing as Sarah -Baby boy due in sept.1st!

I'm not uneducated and stupid. I am aware of all that.

Great, and ignorant person who judges teens.

Its random people in general who are uneducated and stupid.

Go to sleep, you obviously need some.

Not all teens are dumb and stupid, some are really smart and have great lives. I have a great life and I would never change a thing about it. You need to stop been mean to young people. Not all young people are this way.
No, parents don't educate their kids anymore. And sex ed is very explicate and almost never talks about abstinence. Plus, I really feel like adults are too easy on kids about the whole thing. I saw a question last night by a 14 year old who was trying to get pregnant and everyone told her not a good idea but it's your decision. It feels like parents are afraid to lecture and discipline. A lot of the parents are to busy sleeping around themselves. I guess we can't expect kids to act responsible when their parents are idiots too.

Oh, and I love all the teens on here saying I'm mature and smart. Sorry kids, when I was your age I thought that way too. Now that I'm a little older I see just how immature I was. I'm 23 and still have a lot of growing up to do. And people come on, we aren't saying all teens are stupid, we are just talking about the ones who actually are, and there is a big majority of them. Also, just because some of you are teen parents and doing ok, doesn't mean that what you did was smart. You were stupid for getting yourself into the situation. Of course you love your baby, that doesn't mean you should have gotten pregnant in the first place though.

As for the abortion for birth control. It is because the majority of people in this country don't value human life anymore. It is really sad.

I really wish us adults could have a conversation without the trolls and kids getting in the middle of it. I don't care if it's good advice, I don't want a 15 year old telling me how to parent.
i find it funny how all the teenagers are getting all offended im sure she isnt directly speaking of you unless you are one of those people who ask those questions calm down people i agree sometimes things people in general not just teenagers say just pisses me off so bad its just life though stupid uneducated people come your way sometimes you can choose to dwell on it or forget i am for forgetting it!
hmmmm well I'm old but the older I get the smarter my parents get
    im not estupid
I'm fifteen and I don't think I'm stupid... Those kids asking those questions are the ignorant, stubborn people who were raised the wrong way... Practically their parents' fault. Not all of us are dumb sluts like how you must be thinking we are...
ok teens are young but some are not stupid, if you hate those types of questions dont read them, if you want the points on here, answer in a simple question. and get your stupid 2 points for answering them.
This is why I tend to avoid Y!A on Friday and Saturday nights, but I am up late because I am having a hard time getting comfortable (31 weeks) so instead of being in bed annoyed that I can't sleep I decided to come online...I know how you feel. Try not to let them ruin your evening, they are just bored. Thank goodness school is around the corner
I think a lot of kids out there are uneducated, and maybe slightly stupid. But I think that it varies from kid to kid.

And I think that some kids use this as an outlet, they feel safe concealing their identity and asking any question they want... hoping to find answers because maybe they're embarrassed or really are uneducated but want to become educated.

A lot of questions on here, I agree are really stupid and they seem really ignorant. But at least they're asking...

since apparently teens aren't being taught on much anymore.

    Unless its by the media.
    not stupid, but young
abortion is used as a alternative birth control method.. it was originally intended for people who truly didn't want, or couldn't handle a baby. but, like most things, it was abused. the main contraception, i believe are these things called CONDOMS!! you know, the old saying WRAP IT BEFORE YOU TAP IT! And there is sex ed where i live in both middle school, and high school.
    they're not they're just ignorant
Their brain is not fully developed ,yet, especially in the Actions, Consequences department.

Full brain development doesn't complete til the age of 25. There's hope for them as they become older.

Teenagers are all about Immediate Gratification.
In my opinion they are like that because they don't listen enough when it comes to sex ed. They think i've heard all this before so i don't need to listen to it again, which they don't know anything about it. I don't think they should use abortion as a birth control method, if they don't want to get pregnant they should use a condom or go on the pill before they decide to have sex. When their parents try and talk to them about it they go out of the room quickly thinking that they are embarrassed. My mum taught me as soon as i started my periods, she told me everything i needed to know which then i didn't think i would want to fall pregnant at 15.

But not all teenagers are like that but it would help them if they listened more when they get taught about this stuff.
    HEY

im a teenager and im EDUCATED and sometimes stupid. (lol but not in that way)

And some of us teenagers are smart and not skanky whores who runs around getting preggo by sick bastards.

    And yes, I am a teenager and i think teeny boppers are the most annoying thing ever!! So don't think ALL teenagers dont know this cause we arent that stupid! D:%26lt;
Hey, not every teenager is uneducated and ignorant. I'm 17 and I'm extremely involved with what's going on in the world.

Some people are just stupid no matter what age they are but I do agree with your statement that abortion is used as a birth control. It's ridiculous. But do not group all teenagers together! Some of us do still have morals, and values, and minds :)

Matthew: i think your right on with the cycle of bad parents. I've been raised by older parents, (60yr old father, 55 year old mother), and the values they've taught me are definetely not being taught to my peers. And what's scary is the teenagers I attend high school with believe whatever they do is okay.
I'm not uneducated and stupid. I am aware of all that.

Great, and ignorant person who judges teens.

Its random people in general who are uneducated and stupid.

Go to sleep, you obviously need some.

    Goodnight!
Teenagers these days think the world is theirs. they think they can have unprotected sex and that nothing bad will happen. then they think the can get an abortion and that everyone will agree with their decision. they are $tupid and just want to make people mad. They should go to sleep, not us!
lol. i'll be19 when my baby is born. I'm 14 weeks 1 day pregnant now and although i'm young, i've been out of school for over a year and cant be around people under the age of 23...i think i have 2 friends around my age...AND THEY'RE JUST PLAIN IGNORANT!!!! I stick to my boyfriends family...totally unplanned pregnancy and if i hear ONE MORE KID SAY THEY WANT A BABY I'LL SCREAM!!!! I cant even handle this pregnancy..already been to the E.R once for severe dehydration from morning sickness and i've spent a lot of money just towards the baby. i haven't bought a thing for me or my boyfriend... i can barley pay rent but yes..people are ignorant and apparently everyone under 18 thinks they can do whatever they want...some even older then that...but good luck with everything.. i have heartburn... OFF TO FIND TUMS!!! :)

U AVERAGE stereotypical jerk...idc if your pregnant %26amp; cranky.
I'm a teenager, and I can tell you, not all teenagers are ';uneducated and stupid';. Though, what really bothers me is teens that have intercourse and then ask these questions. You should be educated about sex before actually having it. And I guess not a lot of teens are. It also annoys me how some teenagers are highly immature.. That don't use vocabulary in the right way, and still ask ';am i pregnant'; questions. Though it is annoying, we're growing up.
People don't understand the concept of taking responsibility for their actions. I'll all for people doing what they want (i.e. having sex) but it seems as though they do it without considering the potential consequences of it. Why? Because they don't have to take responsibility. Society gives them an easy way out and they take it. Poof. It's gone. No more problem, we don't have any responsibilities or consequences in our lives.

Abortion doesn't make you un-pregnant. It makes you the mother of a dead baby.
Hehe. I think the same thing every time I come on here. I am just so sick of it I just normally pass over the questions. But yeah, I totally agree with you!!!!

Edit- Wow!! I am so shocked at your answers!! Haha obviously she's talking about the stupid teens who come on here 5 minutes after having unprotected sex with their bf and ask if their pregnant. Haha. Obviously these people are stupid enough to have unprotected sex in the first place (when not trying to get pregnant) and the. Ask stupid questions like ';I had sex 2 days ago and I'm feeling sick and I'm having cravings. I took two tests and they are negitive. Do you think I'm prego??!!'; These are the teens she's obviously talking about!!
im a teen mother and i am not ';young and stupid'; i was 18 when i gave birth to my son, hes the best thing that has happened to me. we knew what we were doing. dont pass judgement like that on all teens please
All teenagers aren't uneducated and stupid.

I'm only fifteen and I'm well aware of everything

you're saying. Your ignorance is making YOU look stupid.

You have ruined my evening by calling me stupid.

Of course some people are not as smart as they should be.

You're just being stereotypical. Yes, do us all a favor and

go to sleep. You seem cranky.

What can TEENAGERS get away with that adults and children can't?

what are somethings that you think you can get away with doing/wearing/acting-like as a teenagers that you couldnt as an adult or little kid??What can TEENAGERS get away with that adults and children can't?
Doing what we want with little regard for consequences.

In our teens we are old enough to have the power and independence to make our own decisions, YET we are still young enough not to give a damn what anyone else thinks. What can TEENAGERS get away with that adults and children can't?
    being hormonal

    being moody

    sleepin in late

phases (sorata with little kids but teenage phases are a bit more extreme)

experimenting with sexuality(not always doing sutff but thinkin about it more than the other to sections... somtimes i guess trying but idk not me)

geeting a C (grown ups don't have homework and getting a c in like 2nd grade is well pretty awful and like parents get upset its understandable for teens)and yes i relize that was stretching it

acting crazy (but on purpose not like ignornat little kids)

wearing watever... and pulling it off

eat watever... to a point (little kids have there mums looking over there shoulders being like you'll ruin your appetite adults have to watch there selves bc of a slower metabolism and teens can just eat watever whenever without anyone saying anything or it making there cholestral go through the roof get real fat and stuff)

be a middle schooler/highschooler lets face it can a 40 year old really get away with being int th 7th grade what about a 9 year old (except prodigies)
being fun and loud and crazy and hyper in random stores :)

and looking at refridgerators in sears and be like i want this one then saying sarcastically why is no one helping us we could actually be buying one. then the sales person coming sorta laughing asking us if we need help and us laughing and running off. :D

and also dancing in sears by the tvs. like a interpretal dance while your bff watches.

    laughing everywhere at anything.

getting a ton of candy in the candy store then eating it in other stores and on the way.

and also when the mall is about to close in like 5 minutes and your parents are waiting to pick you up and you are in the other side of the mall. and you have a stalker that you walk buy and he goes hey wassup then you walk away because he was like 5 years older. then you get out of the store and you are behind them so you runn laughing and run to the other side of mall then get to the department store where your parents are waiting outside and the door thing is closed. so you try to get the dudes attention and act psyco then you just walk out the other door right there. ahahahahaha

    :)

    ive done all these :)

    im 15 :)
**** man, we can do just about anything, because we are at the age where we're not completely responsible for are actions and don't have to completely take care of ourselves, and we have cars that can take us places without our parents knowing. and when your an adult you have more responsibilities
they can wear the skater style and pull it off.

like chuck taylors skinnies and band t's.

they can also act confused, and have the excuse of them trying to figure themselvs out.

    peer pressure.
we can pretty much do anything haha.

people just blame it all on our hormones/experimenting/peer pressure/being stupid.

its kinda annoying, but usually works out in our favor, whatever the reason.

    :)
Sleeping in, going through phases (adults can't really say they're just ';experimenting';), random mood swings, having little to no responsibility.
clothes/ fashion. moddiness and cursing. not caring about wat other think. being preppy, emo,or goth.
    ignorance

teens should know better, but don't

adults know better and are expected to act as such
We can get away with just being teens whereas they (adults and children) can't.
dressing crazily i dress in huge all black **** plus im 6'1'' at 14, weird huh? im scaring the hell out of everyone
    Eyeliner overkill :)
    Not having jobs.
    swearing...

    and being moody.
    jackin off
sleepin 14 hours of a day

What do tou think is the reason why teenagers engage in abortion?

They are young, not ready to take care of a child. But everyone, all ages can have abortions, not just teens. What do tou think is the reason why teenagers engage in abortion?
To be honest, I don't think most girls would have an abortion if not pressured to do so by her parents and grandparents. I have yet to meet a pregnant teenage girl that decided on her own to abort. In fact I've met many that fought their parents (mothers especially) for the right to have the baby.

Teenagers make mistakes and accidentally get pregnant. I don't call aborting a baby an accidental mistake and if blame is going to be placed for the high rate of abortion amongst teens, then the blame should be placed on the girls parents and often times, grandparents. What do tou think is the reason why teenagers engage in abortion?
Because basically, it is the girls body, girls choice.

And just because their is a rise in sex, doesn't mean years ago girls didnt have abortions at all, infact women in their 30's would've had abortions so don't say teenagers only get abortions.

    But why you ask?

You try being the girl, who doesn't have enough to support herself, who knows in her heart that she cant give the baby a good life but would be too upset to give it up for adoption, who decides that she is getting an abortion because it is whats best for her, who is realising that they didnt make a mistake, nature just took its path.
well, I think if a teenage girl gets pregnant she is basically up the creek no matter how you look at it. No matter what she chooses first off she will be labelled a sl*ut, or something worse. If she aborts, she gets called a murderer. If she decides to keep the baby she gets dirty looks and comments for being a single, young, teen mom. So the only thing left is for her to have the baby and give it up for adoption, in which case she ends up getting 9 months worth of dirty looks, nasty comments and lost friendships in alot of cases. AND THEN, has to go through the painfull process of giving up a child that just grew inside her for 9 months (which, I am a mother, I could not imagine saying goodbye to my baby after I gave birth). So in reality, the abortion options (who teens btw are not the only people who have them) would deffinatly have its appeal. I myself, did not get pregnant as a teen, have not/would not have an abortion, have not/would not give a child up for adoption and would have no idea how any of this would feel. Therefore, I try to be supportive and not judge others when I have no idea what they're going through. The best optioin, obviously, is not to get pregnant as a teen. But...(shock!) it happens...how the woman decides to deal with her situation is not up to me, nor do I have to deal with any concequesnces of that decision. Abortions, parenting styles, adoption methods, birth methods....basically anything involving a child is and should always be up to the mother (and father, should he be in the picture and supportive). I think pregnant teens have got it rough no matter what they choose and they don't need other people making them feel worthless.
Is actually sad how teenagers these days dont realize the consecuences of their acts. I think you could blame that on us, parents, who did our best to keep them in the right track but didnt give them the strength to deal with per pressure situations, or moral to save themselves for marriage or simply for giving them the unsupervised time to get pregnant!
Wow, this question pisses me off a good bit. Why, you ask........ Because I am a teen mother. DO NOT STEREOTYPE us like that. My mother is 38 f'in years old and just got one. I got pregnant at 15 and KEPT MY BABY. Married the father and now am doing very well for myself without any gov. help, parental help, live on my own and work my *** off. I CAN HANDLE the resposibility. I DID. Just because I had sex does not make me STUPID. I had sex on birth control one time with the guy I loved and I GOT PREGNANT. I know ya'll are going to say ';you don't know what love is you're too young';. Well I am 17 now... I'm married to him, I LOVE HIM. I love my 10 month old son and I love myself. Abortion--- anyone can get one... You don't got to be underage. Take a second to think before you ask your next question please. This put me down. It's not funny. Sorry to sound mean, but TOTALLY NOT TRUE... thank you

EDIT--- Did you ever think of how scared a little girl would be if she discovered she was pregnant. Being banned from her parents, her friends, her ';boyfriend''. Every teenage girl, I do believe has alot of fears because once you tell everyone you are hated and stereotyped by society. It is wrong. Just because I got pregnant the first time I had sex, I was labeled as a whor3 from everyone to my mom to my friends telling me this. So ya know what... It's not the funnest thing in the world
they r kids themselfs so they can not raise a kid..... or

their parents just can not afford to help them so there is no other choice but to have an abortion......... because giving it out for adoption means having to go thru the whole pregnancy thing and they do not like to get fat..............
I think only pregnant teenagers engage in abortion, and since only a very small percentage of teenagers are pregnant and only a few choose to terminate the pregnancy, using broad based terms such as these is creating a false stereotype.
Your not in the authroity to ask something like this! A majority of you people who judge youjng girls who HAVE TO have abortions will never ever kno and have and will nevcer have any idea of the pain and heartache involved!!! There are reasons for everything!
first ... because they are allowed to. It is there choice.

second because they (BOTH BOYS AND GIRLS) were not not taught enough about birth control or self respect for each other and their parents.

also cause they think they won't get pregnant.
hmmm, let me think. because we're young and are still in school.

its either have agreat life becoming an adult early, or actually live my life the way i want to.

    wow, wat a hard decision.
they are to lazy to take care of a child and they want to take the easy way out. that is with everyone. dont have sex if you don't want to get pregnant.
Not ready for a baby, financially, physically or emotionally.

They need to live their life before they produce another one.
They can't get a significant other to get engaged to.Because they are too young to handle the responsibilities of being a parent.Geez
Because there too young plus it's kind of like a new trend to have these babies now isn't it, everybody has them, not me. =]
Because they are ill prepared for parenting and they are impulsive.
they r urged by curiacity. No planing %26amp; precaution. Not ready to accept the consquences.
    -Not ready for the responibility

    -Rape

-Not wanting to have a child because of social reasons

    -etc
SHUT UP! sorry to sound mean but ALOT as in ALOT ALOT ALOT of different ages of people get abortions! OLD GRANDMA!
Because they are too unexperienced to realize what they are really doing.. And take the easy way out.
For your sake I hope you never have to find out.
It is not only teenagers. Please don't label us like that

Unfortunalty teens have been affected most with these hormonal changes and it disturbed them a lot.

At the same time teen have to perform on so many fronts and a lot of expectation from peers , parents and from themselves.

The best remedy for them could be

    1.Sports 2. Hobbies 3. Music 4.Dances 5. Reading books etc.

All the fun activities wich are eneregy decipating and gives emmense learning would help.

I know its easy to say then do but any teen does this will help him to counter his own ulat fare .
There are many things which are quite troubling to todays teens, thats true. But the only cure for getting out of these troubling it practicing meditation with full concentration during morning when fresh air is easily available. teenage is the time for hormonal imbalance. you can said it the time of inner tornado. which is because of this hormonal imbalance. gradually these hormones settle down with the time. that's why we see the teens behaving like a crazy or whatever you said.

Now the treatment procedure: first of all is proper guided exercise. we have to take it into consideration that no two person are identical, that is why i mention guided exercise schedule. for example, if any teen is shy, full of complex, love to stay alone, or having a problem of social phobia and so on so fourth we prescribe then rather stimulating type of exercise, vigorating breathing exercises, so that his rate of bmr gone high. and follow the opposite in case of persons who are aggressive, restless etc.

Next is diet guideline.we all know the famous line: as you think so you become. And this thinking is totally depends on what one eat. if one eat junk food, spicy food, carbonated beverage frequently instead of main course of nutritious food then it is quite definite that the impact will be seen on his pattern of thinking and this thinking will change his attitude.

next is peer group. with whom you are mixing. as because we all know that teenage is just like small tree, which steel go to earn his own strength, so it needs a good gardener to take care of. that's why good company, fruitful company is needed.
Have you ever thought? What inspires teenagers

? What is it that drives them day in and day out? What is it that inspires them?

Inspiration is a desire to live life. To act on our emotions, creativity, ability and beliefs. To take criticism but have the faith in yourself to do it.

You can begin to see that if nothing inspires you or excites you or lights up your life you are really missing something.

What inspires me is the thought that I am more than my body. My limitations are only down to my thoughts. Thus, I want to keep pushing the boundaries to find out what is there. Find out what I can communicate to the world. I am inspired by the fact that through what I do I may enable another person to open their mind. To remove the blinkers and reach their possibilities. It is our imagination that inspires them.

    1.Inspiration gives you understanding.

    2.Inspiration gives you an identity

3.Inspiration gives you a way of being.

4.Inspiration is a gift to us from almighty God.

5.Can we really live without knowing what inspires us.?

6.Our culture is great which inspires us.

I prefer to reply logically and not abruptly. Did you like this?

How can teenagers avoid peer pressure?

Unfortunately you can't. Maybe if you lock yourself in your house all day but you don't want to do that? Stuff like this is going to happen to the day you die. Their is always going to be some ignorant prick trying to force you into something you don't want to do. The only advice I have to give you is to listen to your heart and what you think is right. Hopefully you choose the smart choice and walk away, but if you choose the other path nothing good will come from it.

Independence and confidence is nice, but once you get backed into a corner that you can't seem to escape on your own, that ';independence'; and ';confidence'; will disappear. And the only thing you have to back you up is God and a miracle. How can teenagers avoid peer pressure?
follow their own heart and mind instead of what's ';cool'; or who's ';popular'; at the time. How can teenagers avoid peer pressure?
Being FIRM and COFIDENT is always the key.
you can't.. you always runn into it at one point or another.
Maybe it's just me, but I honestly have not run into very much peer pressure. The things I have done and the choices I have made have been because of what I wanted - not because of what everyone else was doing, or what they found acceptable.

They also haven't been because my parents approved. Their opinions don't concern me very much, and I consider them to be irrelevant. Maybe some kids will listen to their parents. However, many (myself included) simply don't care. I base my decisions on what's best for me (not smoking or drinking, getting good grades, etc) and not because it's what they want.
Learn to be independant and relaxed. In most cases if someone offers you drugs and you casually turn them down they won't bother pressuring but if you show any sign of hesitation or reluctancy they will try to push. Encourage them to make their own responsible decisions, build their confidence, and teach them by example.
Avoid hanging out with people who are bad influences.
There are lots of books out there that ask you questions and make you think about who you want to be and how you have to make up your mind ahead of time. EX. My Heart Belongs To Him, My Identity. This is a Christian book, but you don't have to be a Christian to get a whole lot of things to think about out of it and make your decision before you are in the situation.

    Some of the things other kids have said (this is mainly a book for girls but boys go through the same things) are----'; this was eye-opening,it made me think about dating and relationships in a new way.'; ';it deals with questions and choices facing teens.'; '; it helped me think about now but also things I will be facing in the future as far as friendships, dating, and sorting out what I wanted my standards to be';

The secret is setting your standards of who you are going to be before you get into the situation. If you don't, it's hard to make a good judgement call when it has to be quick and you haven't thought it through.

Who are you going to be? but you need the questions to think about what you are going to decide.
by being there own person and only doing what THEY want to
    They can't
tell them to be them, and kids that smoke and do drugs grow up to be adults that do it and when your 30 you have a habit you hate and cant quit! I smoke ciggs and hate it and tring to quit is hard I tell my kids save your money., teeth, body, health, skin and time dont even start it! cant miss something you never start! good luck!

  • Small teenagers room, who likes black/punky/goth stuff - any ideas?

im hoping to redo my bedroom because its simply, hideous. unfortuantely i like black and white stripes, skulls, bright obvious colours and the like - things you should really avoid when decorating a small room.

has anyone got any ideas that wont make my room feel like my own little hell?

note: its a north facing room if that makes any difference

all answers welcome!Small teenagers room, who likes black/punky/goth stuff - any ideas?
Try painting the walls a dark grey. That way they're dark, but not black. Dark colors will actually make you're room feel bigger because they absorb light instead of making it jump around. You could find a black and white comforter to put on your bed, maybe throw in some skull fabric (we did that for my brother in law). As far as colors go: add that in your carpet, accent pillows, posters, pictures/picture frames, books, any and all accesories. Good colors to stick with would be bright ones like hot pink, red, yellow, orange - that kinda stuff. Hope this helps! i agree with you on totally dark walls will make you feel very closed in on. how creative are you feeling? i would say, paint two walls a solid dark, maybe the deep gray, or even the black, just know that it will be hard to hide that if the room is ever to be painted a light color, not impossible, just lots of primer. anyways, 2 walls dark, then 2 walls white, with black stripes. to do stripes, you need to carefully measure, start from the middle of the room. work to the corner. measure the width of your stripe, using painters tape, run the tape from ceiling to floor, making sure the edges of the tape are tight on the wall, to prevent seepage. paint your stripes, let dry to the packages suggestion, and lift off, there are your stripes. use your bright colors to accent, i would also use silver or pewter colors with your skulls and spikes. you can drape sheer black fabric, or deep gray fabric over windows, lamps, just make sure the fabric is not flammable, and is not touching the light bulb. use mirrors, draping the fabric over them too for a demure Gothic looking effect. check eBay for Gothic decorations or even bedding..

    good luck, have fun
my teenage days are long gone %26amp; I now have teenagers--I am also an artist :). Our basement is their %26amp; their friends hangout. I painted the entry way to our basement to look like stone castle walls %26amp; I painted the door to look like an old medieval door. I am yet to get around to painting a flying dragon up on the ceiling. It turned out really good-wish I could post a pic for ya. My youngest son was really into astrology so I painted a huge celestial leo on one wall (I used pointelism %26amp; a silver paint pen to create the illusion of stars)---took forever to do but turned out awesome.
Why don't you get counseling first, then paint your room.

My first serious and last serious Yahoo question - why the hysteria about sex with teenagers?

In reading Yahoo answers (not to mention reading the newspapers), it has become obvious that people in the US view sex with teenagers as the most hideous imagineable crime, one that should be punished by castration, death, etc. Why? I wouldn't want to argue in favor of it, and I know the serious and lasting emotional impacts it can have, but it seems like people get much more worked up about it then they do about beating kids, emotionally destroying them, etc. There are worse things than sex, even for teenagers. I believe this is the 21st century version of the witch hunt. So go ahead, start with the e-mails telling me I'm a pervert and you're reporting me to big brother and I deserve to be in prison for life.My first serious and last serious Yahoo question - why the hysteria about sex with teenagers?
..its not right to.. torture, kill ,beat ,starve, neglect or have sex with a teenager............. I am not calling you names or reporting just stating my viewsMy first serious and last serious Yahoo question - why the hysteria about sex with teenagers?
sex with teens is against the law
i quess it all depends how old the teenager is and how old you are .
    read your bible...its wrong..
I get your point and would like to add some sense to it:

First, sex with teenagers is illegal, and should be treated as such. The border get slightly morally unclear (though very shrap legally) when you talk about a 18 and 16 yr old couple.

But when it's about a 35 and 16 yr old couple (not trying to get more extreme yet), you can suspect the elder is in the position of taking advantage and abusing the teen, and that's what the law is trying to prevent.

While by Beating or emotionally abusing a teenager someone is surely trying to harm them, in a sexual relationship you can say there isn't necessarily a bad motive.

Theoretically speaking, such couple can be true lovers with all the good things of it, but the LAW stands to put the line and protect the innocent ones.

In this case (21th century or not) teens, in general, are proved to be not yet ready to be totally responsible of their own acts and to chose right.

If you don't yet agree, study the law deeper and try to offer alternatives, let's say, by giving legal understanding for young couples of a teen and a legally mature person to some degree.

The big waves of such act might be too much for your taste, and that can be true in comparison for the other examples you set, but it's good to have a focus on some matters every once in awhile.

I don't think it's a ';witch hunt';, and ';Big brother'; is sure to be a very little one, only trying to use this hysteria to gain more political power over a specific incident (as the facts not yet to be proved true or false).

I don't think you are a pervert, by the ideas you gave.

Surely enough, perverts should be dealt with all force given by law.

As for normal people, would advise ALL to keep their hands clean and be EXTRA sensitive when it comes to dealing with helpless people and teenagers.
well i dont care i never did it before so it dosent matter what ppl say about teen sex tho i whis they would not point the finger they where young once too so us teens are not to blame there are to many restritions on us and we naturally try to brake the rules there shouldnt be an age to who ever you sleep with eather like my friend is 14 and dating and sleeping with a 24 year old man
    I cant see your problem.

Maybe your thinking about it too much. Take a break from the news for a week.
So you like teenagers, you should really stay away from kids you ped you are probably one of those fat computer geeks that tries to

get kids on the Internet and then you try to talk about the other horrible things in the world to keep the attention off you.
Oh bugger the bible....that is not and never will be a reason given the amount of pedophilia in the church-loving people.

Its not about biology either, as children come into hormonal awakening when they hit puberty and historically speaking marry were promised as wives as young as 12.

Its about psychology. Its about intention. Its about coping. Children seek love, closeness...as they were used to when they were babies.....cuddles, stroking, affection, kisses. As children get older and less cute, they miss that from their parents because the natural thing in life is to grow away from family, so one can bond with another and mate for life (procreation etc).

And thats where the intention problem comes in. If a child has had a stable background they will experience puppylove (one that is of someone who is unavailable and SAFE...like a popstar or beloved uncle). They have to try out their ability to love BUT if it were reciprocated and acted upon...they would be terrified because it would no longer be a fantasy under their own control.

If a child has been taken avantage of at a younger age they lose the ability to reason well...as they already lost any control they had....and see the only way to ';love'; is via abuse. So they get used time and time again...seeking love but only getting lust in return. Boys mature later than women and some adult males dont know when to recognise that they are hurting the girls they pretend to like....or they do but dont care as long as they have a hole to stick their doodles into.

The frontal lobe (emotional brain is not fully developed until the latter part of the teens)...thats why so many go nutsy for a while and do ';unthinking or stupid'; things. Some translate into adulthood well....others dont due to low IQ, drugs, low self-esteem, psychological problems.

The sex with teenagers hype is there (if its there) because people are becoming aware that, just like the good parenting skills hype......that so many people are getting hurt and there is a way to stop it......via counselling, making people think before they act....with empathy and commonsense. If you loved a teenager...you would want the best for them...and that includes being appropraiet in dealing with them...so you recognise that they ARE still kids and puppylove doesnt translate into doing something that they are not really ready for...even if they are too damaged to see it...dont add to their abuse. Love them in a good romancing, happy way until they know their own mind and body enough for it to be real FOR THEM.

Any kid pushing for ACTUAL sex would be way too hurt or damaged to know they are hurting themselves more...so an adult should be able to control themselves...and wait for the kid to be an adult, so they dont mess up the growth process. Think with your heart and brain...not your hormones.
It is no less or no more awful than beatings and abuse, it's just what's hitting the media more right now and think that's because we've become a bit immune to the media coverage of abuse (especially involving teenagers vs very young children) and the sex sells better. It is emotionally damaging to them though so I'm glad it's getting media spotlight. It's confusing for a teenager to have someone in an caregiver/adult role making sexual advances. I have a friend whose teacher slept with him when he was 16 and even though he wasn't a virgin, it really did screw him up in the head. The guilt he felt was tremendous. It was different than sleeping with someone his own age. Maybe one day the media will start covering physical/emotional abuse again.
No one ever said teenagers having sex is worse than physical abuse, but teenagers having sex can suffer from emotional distress. They are not mature enough to handle the emotions that go along with it. Many of them also don't use the proper protection and can destroy their future by getting pregnant or getting an std.

The teenage years are more delicate than most teenagers themselves want to believe. They are struggling to feel grown up but have yet to venture out into the world and discover who they are or deal with the consequences of such actions. They are emotionally vulnerable whether they know it or not.

How do we teach Social Graces to Teenagers?

Teens are people too. Treat them with the respect they deserve. Explain to them what they need to know and why they need to know it. Most of all, remember they are looking to you to be their role model. What you do, they will copy. As long as you approach the situation(s) with humor, you should come out alive. ;)How do we teach Social Graces to Teenagers?
learn by example. Parents need to guide them. How do we teach Social Graces to Teenagers?
I don't think that social graces are taught... they're just learned. Don't worry, the teenagers will pick them up!
Look in a mirror and punch yourself :)
Treat them with social graces. Teenagers have to feel respected in order to return respect. If we, as adults, don't model social graces (which I assume to be manners and respectful behavior), how are we providing them with useful examples of the graces they lack?

When we don't listen to them, shut them down, act rude to them and one another-- we are teaching them how to treat us.
It's a bit late to begin when they are teenagers. Research suggests that people learn core values by the time they reach about 4 years old. In an ideal world (if we could find one) they would learn from childhood how to behave socially - whether you mean dining etiquette, being respectful to adults, opening doors for their elders and so on and so forth. Behaving as a role model for them is very important during this time. Rewarding or praising them when they acquire skills or do something well is really the best way to encourage them. Sadly, if they don't know these basics by the time they are teenagers, it will probably only become something they value themselves if their career depends upon it later on. Otherwise, they may never learn to behave cordially.
    Become an example.
Well, first you get a big stick. Got to get their attention, ya know............
I completely agree with Crowfeather, and would like, if I may, add this one idea: you are unique in the entire history of the Universe--don't blame any imagined faults on others, even your parents. Be yourself and utterly honest. You will succeed!
It should have started at home, and if you are not their parent or teacher or in a position of responsibility with them, you are basically in a loosing battle. Once they reach the teen years, their behaviour patterns are already well ingrained, and it usually takes some tragic event or something that causes them to have an epiphany to change. The thing to do is raise your own children properly, as you can't change the world, but you can change your own world.
Social graces can't be taught over night they are taught from birth, all you can do is to apologise to people and let them know you have taught him/her, he/she just refuses to use them, also remember the old saying you can take a horse to water but you can't make him/her drink.
    Don't teach, Instruct.

Once at the teens it becomes difficult, but it is still an ongoing process. At on time sports were part of this work. There was more protocol attached to entering, playing and leaving games.

In the teen years, if they fail in a grace, you can seemingly be viewed as critical if you correct. I think roll playing, debate, acting, and music are involved. Now much missing from our school systems.

Finally if you have a good connection; the real option is to take them aside and point out what they need to do. If they know it's going to make their position better they will respond.

Do not teach but instruct. If you can point out your failures in the same or similar situations so much the better. They are your kids. Chances are they will have your faults.

If you are so hot that you can't point out a similar fault, just use a big general mistake you have made. I know I have never run out of material.
by being a good role model
wtf is that suppose 2 mean?
You start when they are young and just accept that as teenagers they will push the boundaries a little and ';forget'; the social skills they have already learned.
Talk to them very politely. Be friendly with them. Firstly, you have to be a good teacher in front of them. They should love your way of teaching. You think that why somebody would like to listen you. If you were a student how would you like to learn them. If they don't know then don't get angry because nothing will happen by that instead those teens would hate you so talk softly with them.

What age is right for dating with teenagers?

I have chosen not to date until I'm eighteen. My reason is simple:

    1) Dating is for finding your future spouse, and I am not ready to get married when I'm a teenager.

    This decision has simplified my life. I am free from the usual teenage ';drama.';

  • Teenagers, do you ever find yourself snapping at or presenting your parents for no reason?

I don't know what it is, but the last couple of days I have felt so resentful to my mum, everything she seems to ask me just winds me up and I find myself snapping at her, I have no idea why because we haven't argued or anything, I'm aware that I am doing it I just don't know why....and I feel bad but I just feel irritated at everything she asks me etc, I love her to pieces though, any other teens experience this??Teenagers, do you ever find yourself snapping at or presenting your parents for no reason?
Can you like, read my mind?

I'm kinda in a small depressing period where I see no point in life and then all of a sudden, there's the will to live and then theres mom who still believes she has to 'keep the leash tight' or whatever you may call it.

I'm 16, appearantly mature enough to take care of my siblings (otherwise I would've failed), yet she treats me like she did when I was 14, or 13 even. Like she's afraid of her girls growing up or something, I don't know. I mean, she is strict. Not just strict, it's starting to annoy me very very much. She picks out my clothing each and every day, she has to agree with what I wear, if she doesn't I can take it right off. She's a total prep, she is full of herself and she thinks she's all that. Now she may earn the money in this house, but I'm not like her and she doesn't want to believe that. Oh and how about no swearing? Yeah. It's butt or bum and Yes mom, not just 'sure' or 'yeah'.

Then when you start yelling because it's really getting on your nerves, she's like all smart and saying ';I'm 3 feet away from you, keep your voice down lady'; and seriously, if you don't listen, you're grounded for the day, heck even for the weekend if it suits her. Free daycare, free babysitter. Can it be easier? And no backtalking, that'd cost you another day grounded. ';MOM, I'm growing up, accept it please, I'm not your little kid anymore and I know it's hard for you, but come on! Get freaking real for once, mom, PLEASE!'; Then she goes like ';Oh honey, come on, it's not that bad, can we have this conversation another time? I really have this thing I need to do for one of our clients... And keep your voice down, I'm not deaf.'; *sigh*

I mean, she's a great mom and I love her, but I totally can't stand her at times.

    AAAAAAAAARGGHHH!

Sorry for venting. Good question actually. Kinda helped me in some way.Teenagers, do you ever find yourself snapping at or presenting your parents for no reason?
Yup, I do it sometimes. I try to be good though and just chill out. It'll pass eventually. It helps if you talk to your mom about stuff. Some teens just leave their parents out of the loop. I don't tell my mom everything (obviously) but I talk to her and I'll tell her about stuff that happened at work and if my friend texts me something funny/sad and it's not personal sometimes I'll say something.
everyone does it at one time in their life.

i normally try not to snap at anyone, or take it out on anyone.

but lately i've been really stressed out. yesterday i had to work 17 hours. when i came home, i was extra tired. and the house was cluttered with things, which made me feel worse. no one would give me space. i understand that they were worried about me. but i really need peace and quiet. me boyfriend asked if i needed anything, i responded ';NO!'; in a really mean tone. i felt really bad. he understood though. and i apologized. we've been going through some rough times. he didn't think anything of it.
Ugh lol welcome to teenage life. My mom pisses me off on a daily basis. I know we both love eachother, but sense i hit 13 she just yells at me nonstop and we dont get along. It'll pass, but dont forget to apologise to your mom.
I do that to my stepdad, my mom will slap me in the face when i roll my eyes. Normal, but i don't think your mom will slap you in the face.
    ya all the time

i find my self doing it and realize they arent saying anything annoying there talking just annoys me

idk why though its weird but normal
Yeah I have done that -all the time. It is normal

Those things I believe will only make a child more violent if their parents just get them that stuff.. and absolutely do NOT openly talk to them about it first.. or tell them it's wrong. Like for example.. I've watched horror movies and played violent games occasionally since I was little and I'm not violent.. if anything I've learned what little violence I have in me when I'm mad from my dad. Parents that use video games to 'babysit' their kids while they are off working doing whatever for THEMSELVES are the ones that will have chances of more violent kids.. that's just my opinion.Teenagers who become violent are not as rare as we might hope. Video games, television and movies can indeed influence teenagers into violence, but they are not the main cause. The culprit hides within the teenagers themselves. The name is testosterone. From time to time those hormones burst up like a volcano and they must find out an open valve for the excess

to go free. The best way then is through violence, especially in

boys who become bullies. Even among friends the bullies seem to have the need to make sure they are still in place.
An article I read in a psychology journal where the authors conducted a meta-analysis of a number of different studies examining the relationship between aggression and video game violence. The ultimate correlation they came up with was r = .36 .

A correlation is a measure of a relationship between two events. A correlation measures between -1 and 1, where negative correlations indicating an inverse relationship (as one variable increases the other variable decreases) and 0 indicating no relationship. The thing about a correlation is that it does not mean causation; it is simply the occurrence of two events in relation to one another.

Moving past the statistics crash course, what this means is we see a relationship that shows that when children play violent video games there does appear to more acts of aggression.

But is .36 a strong correlation? Well the correlation between smoking cigarettes and lung cancer, heart disease and emphysema is .4 , so I am inclined to agree that violent video games do impact aggressive behaviors positively (that is statistically speaking [increasing aggression]).
When I was a child, me and my lil bro used to like watching wrestling (WWF). And we copied it like wrestling with each other. We played video games a lot, watch tv a lot but ended up as a normal person. I don't know maybe it depends on the person whether he will end up violent or not even though surrounded by these things? And maybe the way the parents raise them and educations mould them a lot too...
Playing violence through video games gives them a chance to release their emotions, instead of going out in the street and killing people for real. Television and movies, however, may be a different story, in case they develop a role model who's a criminal.
to be honest i blame the whole hip hop scene mostly, a lot of these teenagers think its easy to live a ''thug life'' and no repercussions will come of it, they screw there life up trying to be these people, i see the affect it is happening on my youngest brother he started listening to hip hop, dresses like a chav, and talks all violent to us, the other day i was trying to have a laugh with him, he didn't take it the right way and he turned around and said if i had a gun then i would of shot you, his 11!!!! it is hip hop that is doing it to this youth, i have mental problems and it took me 5 years to work out listening to this music made me get angry and wish to be violent, i listen to rock now and it calms me down, rap artists glamorise violence and crime and make it sound ''cool'' to walk around with guns and knives and got around hurting and sometimes killing each other, they think jail is a cool place to go and we all know it is not, they dont seem to realise this lifestyle wont last long untill there in jail for a long time doing a stretch or worse dead...

this is my opinion any way
I think that can have a lot to do with it, but I think if a parent takes an active role in helping a child to understand the difference between fiction and reality, it doesn't necessarily have to influence them.
If anyone got influenced by a video game, it happened when they were younger and stuck with them through their older years.

People aren't affected by that stuffs when they're older. It's a childhood thing.
If anyone, teenager or otherwise, becomes disconnected with the real world for whatever reason, the potential is there for them to behave in an irrational manner.
    yep

my 7 year old brother is extremely violent and copies moves he sees on tv. he plays on shooting games constantly.

    its a bit worrying actually.
See the world thinks these video games

and movies etc do all this but the kids

    do whatever they want.
Nope video games don't make you violent I play gears of war all the time and im not violent yet.
    no way
